Davis is the father of two sons, has co-produced several films, and is an ultramarathon runner and loves to travel —having visited over 50 countries so far. He once competed with Lance Armstrong in an Ironman competition. His work and life reflect a commitment to intellectual freedom, creative expression, and rethinking the possibilities of education and lived-philosophy in the 21st century.

Creston Davis, PhD is the Founder and Chancellor of GCAS College Dublin, an EU-accredited, debt-free, cooperatively owned institution dedicated to reimagining higher education. He earned his doctorate in philosophical theology from the University of Virginia, with additional studies at Duke University and Yale University. Before founding GCAS in 2013, he served as an associate professor at Rollins College and has published widely on philosophy, political theory, psychoanalysis, and theology. Davis is also the editor of the Insurrection series at Columbia University Press, which features leading-edge work in critical theory and continental philosophy.
In addition to his academic work, Davis has written two novels, several short stories, and poetry. He has been ordained as a Christian pastor but no longer practices Christianity. In the early 1990s, he served in an elite Airborne Reconnaissance Detachment (formerly a Ranger L.R.R.P. unit), graduating as the distinguished honor graduate of the Ranger Indoctrination Program (RIP). After sustaining an airborne accident, he turned to reading and began his lifelong engagement with philosophy and literature.
